About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care on a medical‑surgical unit. The LPN will deliver care including IV therapy under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, coordinate ancillary staff, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Provide comprehensive care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
Communicate professionally with patients, families, and team members to ensure a quality experience.
Adapt quickly to changing unit demands and assist with other related duties as needed.

Required profile

High School diploma or equivalent.
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

IV therapy administration.
Basic Life Support (BLS) proficiency.
