About the role
The municipality library is seeking a Library Assistant II to work part‑time in the Teens department. The role involves providing front‑line service to patrons, handling circulation tasks, and supporting teen programming during evenings and occasional weekends.
Key responsibilities
- Check in and check out library materials and process holds and inter‑library loans.
- Enter and edit patron information, verify residency, identification, and contact details.
- Collect and record payments for overdue, damaged, lost, or non‑resident fees.
- Shelve returned items, empty book return bins, and maintain orderly shelves.
- Assist with voter registration procedures as required by the State of Arkansas.
- Contact patrons regarding overdue, missing, or damaged items.
- Support teen programming, including evening and weekend activities.
Required profile
- Availability for approximately 29 hours per week, primarily evenings and some weekends.
- Ability to work with teens and deliver friendly, accurate service.
- Attention to detail for patron data entry and fee processing.
Required skills
- Familiarity with a library automation system for circulation and patron management.
