Legal Nurse Consultant (Part‑time, Remote/Hybrid)

About the role

Burr & Forman LLP is looking for an experienced Legal Nurse Consultant to join its Health Care Practice Group on a part‑time basis (approximately 50‑90 hours per month). The consultant will work remotely or in a hybrid setting, supporting the team by analyzing medical records for legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Process record requests and obtain medical records from facilities.
• Verify completeness of records, identify gaps, and request additional documentation.
• Review, summarize, and analyze medical records and related legal documents.
• Perform medical record gap analysis and draft detailed chronologies.
• Provide clinical analysis of medical issues relevant to cases.
• Conduct clinical research as needed.
• Assist with other duties as required by the practice group.

Required profile

• BSN or RN degree with at least five years of nursing experience, preferably in senior‑care settings.
• Familiarity with Point Click Care (PCC) and Matrixcare systems.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and clinical standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive.
• Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and drafting abilities.
