About the role
The United Nations Appeals Tribunal (UNAT) is seeking a Legal Data Analyst on a six‑month consultancy to support the Registry in reviewing and improving historical case data. The role focuses on auditing, cleaning, and visualising appeals data for the UNAT caseload dashboard.
Key responsibilities
- Review historical appeals data in the court case management system and perform data auditing for presentation purposes.
- Identify missing details, duplicates, and inconsistencies, and update case entries as required.
- Prepare and transform data for integration into PowerBI dashboards.
- Collaborate with the UNAT Registrar and Principal Registrar on reporting and data quality initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to databases or data analytics.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN official language is a plus.
- Familiarity with case management software (any brand).
Required skills
- Advanced Excel
- PowerBI or similar data‑visualisation tools
- Python or R for data cleansing and automation
- General case‑management software proficiency
