About the role
The Conflicts Counsel joins Husch Blackwell’s Conflicts Department to support the firm’s intake, lateral clearance, and client engagement processes. This position can be performed remotely or from any of the firm’s U.S. offices and offers the opportunity to work on complex conflict‑of‑interest matters within a collaborative, inclusive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest for new and existing matters.
- Draft and manage conflict waivers, ethical wall implementations, and related engagement‑letter language.
- Review lateral candidates and outside‑counsel guidelines (OCGs) for compliance.
- Communicate conflict decisions clearly to partners, staff, and leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of conflict resolutions and update outdated conflict information.
- Ensure adherence to applicable Rules of Professional Conduct and firm policies.
- Serve as a resource for conflicts analysts and provide guidance on conflict‑related issues.
