Legal Assistant - Settled Cases

About the role

Our firm values speed, precision, and results, especially at the final stage when a case settles. As a Settlement & Subrogation Clerk you will own the disbursement process, turning settlements into fast, clean, and compliant payouts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and finalize settlement statements, including attorney fees, costs, liens, and client net recovery.
• Request, track, and resolve medical liens and subrogation claims.
• Communicate with medical providers, insurers, and lienholders to obtain accurate payoff amounts.
• Coordinate and execute client disbursements, ensuring proper allocation of all funds.
• Confirm settlement funds are received and cleared before payment.
• Partner with accounting and trust teams to process payments to clients and third parties.
• Explain settlement breakdowns to clients in a professional, understandable manner.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation for every file.
• Close out cases once all payments and documentation are finalized.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in personal injury law settlements, lien resolution/subrogation, or insurance claims.
• Detail‑obsessed with zero tolerance for financial errors.
• Proven ability to manage high‑volume workloads and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communicator who can work confidently with clients, providers, and internal teams.
• High ownership mentality and process‑driven mindset.
