Leave of Absence Analyst – HR Specialist

About the role
The Leave of Absence Analyst will manage and administer employee leave requests, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, state and local laws, and disability plans. This role supports employees throughout the leave process and collaborates closely with HR and management.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and track employee leave information using ADP and prepare reporting metrics.
- Oversee FMLA leave administration from initial notice through return to work.
- Communicate with employees regarding leave responsibilities and required documentation.
- Collaborate with HR and managers to determine leave eligibility and support operational improvements.
- Advise on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off and disability benefits.
- Facilitate the return‑to‑work process for employees after extended leave.
- Maintain compliance with legal requirements and ensure confidentiality of medical documentation.
- Provide training and guidance to LOA Specialists and educate stakeholders on leave policies.
Required profile
- 2 years of human resources experience (preferred).
- Bilingual English/Spanish (highly preferred).
- Strong experience in Leave of Absence administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
- Experience working with union employees.
- Stakeholder management skills.
- SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP certification preferred.
- Specialized training or certification in FMLA/leave administration a plus.
