Lead Technical Instructor

About the role

Anthropic is building a dedicated technical instruction function to ensure high‑quality learning for engineers, architects, and technical practitioners. As the Lead Technical Instructor, you will split your time between delivering hands‑on instruction in New York and remotely across European time zones, and developing the teaching capabilities of other instructors.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver hands‑on technical instruction for onboarding, residency, and technical enablement programs, both in‑person and remotely.
• Model excellent technical teaching for audiences ranging from small labs to groups of 100+ practitioners.
• Run train‑the‑trainer programs for internal experts, contract instructors, and training partners.
• Coach and calibrate instructors through live and recorded observations, providing actionable feedback.
• Partner with technical experts to translate subject‑matter expertise into effective labs, exercises, and demonstrations.
• Own instructional quality for assigned programs and ensure proper staffing of instructors.

Required profile

• Engineer with a passion for teaching and the ability to improve other teachers.
• Comfortable writing code and debugging technical systems while teaching.
• Adaptable, able to diagnose issues in real time and adjust lessons on the fly.
• Not primarily an instructional design role; focus is on technical delivery.
• Reports to the Head of Technical Training.
