Lead Software Engineer - Cloud

About the role

Join JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Technology team as a Lead Software Engineer focused on cloud‑native data processing. You will drive the modernization of large‑scale data platforms, accelerate cloud adoption, and raise the bar for quality, reliability, and delivery speed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable data processing solutions across private cloud and AWS.
• Define architecture and design decisions for application, data, and infrastructure layers to improve performance and extensibility.
• Modernize existing workloads, introducing cloud‑native patterns and services.
• Build and enhance ETL and event‑driven pipelines, improving throughput, data quality, and observability.
• Partner with product, data, and engineering stakeholders to align on outcomes and delivery plans.
• Promote engineering excellence through code quality, automated testing, peer reviews, and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
• Drive adoption of AI‑assisted engineering practices, ensuring secure coding, peer review, and automation standards.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability at scale.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python or Java.
• Experience building data processing solutions, including ETL development and full pipeline lifecycle management.
