Lead Kubernetes Platform Engineer

About the role

Join 3M’s Platform Engineering, Developer Services team to lead the design, operation, and evolution of the enterprise Kubernetes platform. You will be the technical owner of Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA HCP) and drive its adoption across global engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, operate, secure, and evolve the ROSA HCP platform, including migration of legacy Kubernetes estates.
• Define and enforce platform standards for high availability, multi‑cluster operations, scalability, resiliency, and disaster recovery.
• Lead design and delivery of core services such as ingress, service mesh, observability, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
• Own GitOps and Infrastructure‑as‑Code processes for automated cluster provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Manage day‑to‑day platform operations, including upgrades, capacity planning, incident response, and on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience with at least six years of hands‑on IT work.
• Minimum five years designing, deploying, or operating Kubernetes platforms in any environment.
• Five years of experience with cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE practices.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, customer‑focused mindset.
