Lead iOS Engineer & Mobile Team Lead

About the role

MyTime, a scheduling, payments and automated marketing platform used at over 14,000 locations worldwide, is looking for an experienced iOS Architect and Director of Mobile Engineering in Los Angeles. You will guide the mobile strategy, lead a 5-person mobile team and drive the technical evolution of the native iOS app used daily by thousands of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architectural direction of the 100% native iOS app built in Swift and Objective-C, designing scalable, performant and testable solutions for scheduling, payments and customer engagement.
• Lead technical initiatives that improve code structure, reliability and scalability, and run POCs to evaluate new technologies and tooling.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API integration and client-server interactions.
• Lead and grow the 5-person mobile team, define engineering best practices, mentor engineers and hold regular 1:1s.
• Partner with Product, Design, QA and the CTO, support sprint planning and roadmap execution, and take part in hiring and onboarding.
• Refactor existing code to be more testable, write internal documentation and ensure rigorous test coverage.
• Monitor operational stability, performance, monitoring and alerting for mobile apps.

Required profile

• 9+ years of native iOS development, including enterprise-level experience architecting and building iOS mobile technologies.
• Proven technology leadership experience as Architect, Tech Lead or Team Lead, with a strategic mindset and hands-on guidance.
• Experience building complex, high-load client-backend applications.
• Organizational and communication skills, able to turn stakeholder input into clear plans and document technical decisions.

Required skills

• Native iOS development in Swift and Objective-C.
• Experience with various iOS libraries and tooling.
• Iterative, agile development with frequent releases.
