Lead Hand, Warehouse - 2nd Shift

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Lead Hand for its warehouse in Caledonia, covering the 2nd shift. The role supports supervisors and managers in leading the shipping and receiving team and coordinating warehouse activities, and includes filling in other warehouse positions as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist supervisors and managers in leading shipping and receiving and coordinating warehouse activities, and partner with management to schedule and execute them.
• Fill in any warehouse position as operationally needed, including clerical, coordinator and supervisory staff, and cover breaks and vacations.
• Perform product inventory, confirm quantities and locations, and report variances.
• Train new and current employees, document training progress and recommend improvements to reduce cost and increase productivity.
• Complete required SAP transactions and documentation, maintain time and shipping records, prepare reports and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Analyze and resolve work problems, manage staging and loading, outbound orders and stock transport orders between sites, and goods receipt put-away.
• Complete shift handoff and collaborate across functions to minimize disruption.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Experience following safety, security, sanitation and quality policies and reporting deficiencies.
• Lift truck certification or ability to obtain it (Powered Industrial Trucks).
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, prioritization and multitasking skills.
• Ability to coach, develop and retain a team and to lead others through change.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
• SAP is a plus.
