Lead Brand Designer

About the role

ClickUp is seeking a Lead Brand Designer to own and evolve its visual brand across all touchpoints. You will build a design system that empowers AI tools and non‑designers to create high‑quality, on‑brand assets without bottlenecks.

Key responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and evolve ClickUp's brand design system (tokens, components, patterns, guidelines) while raising aesthetic standards.
• Serve as quality gatekeeper, reviewing and approving brand‑facing creative produced by AI tools, vibe‑coded outputs, and external agencies.
• Create and maintain design system documentation, templates, component libraries, and automation‑friendly asset packages for self‑service design.
• Design and ship high‑volume web assets such as landing pages, campaign pages, and feature announcements for major brand moments.
• Audit and rebuild the brand design system from incomplete foundations, establishing clear documentation and structure.

Required profile

• 8+ years of brand/visual design experience with a track record of leading design systems.
• Exceptional portfolio showcasing mastery of typography, layout, color, motion, and systematic thinking.
• Active use of AI design tools (Midjourney, Firefly, Claude Design, Figma AI) and AI‑assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) with basic GitHub familiarity.
• Experience building design systems that enable high‑quality AI‑generated outputs at scale.
• Proven ability to QA and refine AI‑generated designs, establishing guardrails where AI falls short.
• Comfortable working as the sole designer, making autonomous, high‑quality decisions.
