Laboratory Supervisor

About the role

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the operation, technical, and personnel management of an assigned laboratory section. The role ensures a patient‑focused environment that complies with accrediting and regulatory standards while performing technical work as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinates daily laboratory operations and oversees performance improvement and quality control programs.
• Supervises, trains, and develops department staff, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Participates in PALM and other departmental projects and stays current with accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology (Bachelor's preferred).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in high‑complexity testing under a qualified Medical Director.
• Current state license (if applicable) and ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Technician, or Technologist.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and laboratory computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data, troubleshoot equipment, and prepare management reports.
• Effective verbal and written communication, along with solid computer dexterity.
