Junior Big Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Big Data Engineer to join our data engineering team in Atlanta. You will help design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics and business intelligence across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines for large datasets.
• Perform ETL/ELT tasks and write efficient queries for big‑data processing.
• Monitor data workflows, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and support both batch and real‑time processing.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to deliver end‑to‑end data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all systems.
• Optimize data storage and processing performance.
• Document technical workflows, processes, and system architecture.
• Help deploy and maintain cloud‑based data infrastructure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Solid understanding of SQL and database concepts.
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Basic knowledge of distributed systems and parallel data processing.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Comfort with version control (Git) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow).
