ITS Maintenance Manager (Des Moines, IA)

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced ITS Maintenance Manager to join its team in Des Moines, Iowa. You will support multiple clients by overseeing the maintenance and installation of roadside technologies, ensuring safety for the traveling public.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the on‑site example and technician when required.
• Train staff in safety, computer work, and electronics maintenance and installation.
• Create on‑call schedules and supervise junior personnel.
• Serve as liaison between staff and customers.
• Track task progress, report regularly, and manage subcontractor work, invoices, and payouts.
• Collaborate with administrative and inventory teams for reporting and material ordering.
• Review contract documents and ensure quality assurance for all completed tasks.
• Develop as‑built documentation for customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or construction‑related field (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of related experience with at least 3 years in a field leadership role.
• Electronics troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lb.
• Strong attention to detail and flexible hours with possible rotational on‑call.
• Pass Parsons and client background checks and drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license meeting insurance requirements.

Required skills

• Electronics troubleshooting.
• Installation and maintenance of CCTV, VDS, field switches, encoders, decoders, and DMS equipment.
• Networking or fiber‑optic experience (preferred).
• CDL and forklift operation (preferred).
• Workzone Safety certification (preferred).
