IT Onsite Associate – Locksmith Technician

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences seeks an IT Onsite Associate who will serve as a Locksmith Technician. Under direct supervision, you will troubleshoot, install, and maintain electronic and mechanical lock systems across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure door access control, mechanical locks, keypads, electronic locks, Wi‑Fi locks, and related hardware.
• Respond to lock failures, isolate issues, perform repairs or software configuration changes to restore functionality.
• Process key requests, issue keys, and keep the Simple K platform up to date.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation, taking weekly responsibility for emergency lock support.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; associate, bachelor’s, or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience with cabling, low‑voltage systems, carpentry/building maintenance, and mechanical/electronic lock systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work on‑call, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
