Investment Banking Business Associate – Leveraged Finance

About the role

The Business Associate will work directly with the Global Head of Leveraged Finance and senior bankers, providing critical support for the Leveraged Finance Investment Banking group. The role focuses on managing the group’s backlog, maintaining transaction data, and producing market insights and internal reports.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain historical, daily, weekly and quarterly revenue data, fee reconciliations and committee approvals in Excel.
• Update client management systems, handle ad‑hoc reporting requests and track fees across IB Management and Capital Markets.
• Prepare reports and presentations on revenue, market share and transaction activity for senior leadership.
• Support the Global Head in developing discussion materials, business ideas and long‑term strategic initiatives.
• Track Leveraged Finance transactions for the Jefferies/SMBC partnership and update Dealogic league tables.
• Refresh Leveraged Finance credentials in PowerPoint for new deals, league‑table updates and new hires.

Required profile

• Understanding of leveraged finance or direct lending preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously.
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with senior bankers daily.
