Interior Design Project Manager - Workplace Interiors

About the role

A client of Bespoke Careers is looking for an experienced Interior Design Project Manager to join a collaborative, design-driven workplace interiors team in Los Angeles. The role leads complex commercial interior projects from pursuit through completion, covering project delivery, client relationships, team leadership and technical execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage workplace interior design projects through design, documentation and construction administration.
• Develop project fees, scopes of work, schedules and delivery strategies for new pursuits.
• Manage budgets, schedules and resources to meet project goals.
• Serve as primary client contact, building relationships and managing expectations.
• Lead, mentor and support project teams, and guide design and technical decisions.
• Oversee FF&E selection and specification, and direct construction phase activities such as shop drawings, submittals and RFIs.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and vendors, and oversee quality control and compliance with standards and regulations.
• Support business development, client presentations and the resolution of design, technical and code challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program or equivalent.
• 12+ years of professional experience in commercial interior design, with workplace interiors experience preferred.
• Professional registration or licensure preferred.
• Strong portfolio in workplace design, space planning, project leadership and technical detailing.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit and construction documentation.
• Understanding of construction methods, detailing, codes, accessibility standards and project delivery.
• Experience coordinating consultants and contractors and managing budgets, fees and schedules.
• Excellent communication, presentation, leadership and client management skills.
