Interior Design Director – Lead Dual‑Sector Practice

About the role

FXCollaborative, in partnership with Lemay_id, is seeking an Interior Design Director to lead a dual‑sector practice that spans residential, workplace and hospitality environments. The role combines design leadership, project delivery and strategic client engagement across both firms.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a shared design leader across FXCollaborative and Lemay_id, aligning vision, quality and delivery for all sectors.
• Bridge residential, workplace and hospitality design thinking to create differentiated, best‑in‑class experiences.
• Lead complex projects that include workplace, hospitality, residential and mixed‑use typologies, integrating hospitality principles such as storytelling and brand immersion.
• Originate and secure new client opportunities, build trusted relationships and develop market strategies with senior leadership.
• Lead high‑impact pitches, interviews and thought‑leadership initiatives to position the practice competitively.
• Build and mentor integrated project teams, fostering cross‑disciplinary collaboration and a culture of design excellence.

Required profile

• 15+ years of interior design or interior architecture experience with a track record of leading complex projects from concept to completion.
• Architectural licensing or NCIDQ accreditation (required) and a degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
• Strong design, technical and presentation capabilities, with deep knowledge of programming, space planning, materials and construction methodologies.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships, coordinate consultants, vendors and contractors, and drive business development.
• Experience in residential, workplace and hospitality sectors, or demonstrated ability to bridge these domains.
