Interim Accounting Manager – Remote (6‑month contract)

About the role

Our eCommerce client seeks an interim Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager for a six‑month engagement. This remote position provides senior‑level accounting support during a leave coverage period, helping to maintain month‑end close processes and drive special projects across a multi‑channel business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead core month‑end close activities, including prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and related general‑ledger entries.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Manage accounting work for eCommerce and healthcare lines, including reserve balances and receivables tracking.
• Partner with the accounting team to resolve transactional issues affecting financial reporting.
• Assist audit readiness and financial‑statement preparation by providing documentation and responding to requests.
• Utilize NetSuite and advanced Excel tools to analyze data, maintain records, and improve reporting efficiency.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities, including automation of spreadsheets and journal‑entry workflows.

Required profile

• 10+ years of accounting experience with strong month‑end close and general‑ledger management.
• Hands‑on experience with NetSuite in an accounting capacity.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
• Knowledge of accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and corporate accounting practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Ability to work independently without direct reports while overseeing accounting deliverables.
