Intake Services Intern – Summer 2026

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Summer 2026 Intake Services Intern to support its Baltimore intake team. You will work directly with refugees, asylees, and other humanitarian immigrants, helping them navigate eligibility assessments and connect to essential services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients, in‑person or remotely, during intake assessment appointments.
• Document client interactions through case notes and maintain case files.
• Help organize and staff weekly intake days at the office.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Intake Specialist or Coordinator.

Required profile

• Interest or prior experience working with refugees, immigrants, or in case management/social work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; bilingual ability in a local language is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience using web‑based applications such as databases and Box.
