Instructional Support Specialist – Psychology (Part‑time)

About the role

The Instructional Support Specialist in Psychology provides one‑on‑one tutoring and academic assistance to students at Augusta Technical College's Success Center. This part‑time, grant‑funded position supports adult learners with diverse needs and helps them achieve their educational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tutoring and supplemental instruction in psychology and related subjects.
• Prepare and adapt teaching materials to match each student’s ability, goals, and interests.
• Maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment.
• Monitor, document, and report student progress using the center’s tracking software.
• Perform basic administrative tasks to keep the Success Center running smoothly.
• Participate in required annual professional development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (required).
• Preferred: Master’s degree in psychology or a related field.
• Experience with tutoring, supplemental instruction, or academic support services.
• Ability to work flexible hours (morning, noon, evening) based on center needs.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Windows 11 operating system.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
