Instructional Support Specialist – COMP 1000 (Intro to Computers)

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a part‑time Instructional Support Specialist to provide tutoring and academic assistance for COMP 1000 – Introduction to Computers at Augusta Technical College's Success Center. This grant‑funded position runs through September 30, 2026, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role thereafter.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one and small‑group tutoring for students enrolled in COMP 1000.
• Prepare and adapt teaching materials to match diverse learning styles and student goals.
• Monitor, document, and report student progress using the center’s tracking software.
• Maintain a welcoming environment that encourages student engagement and success.
• Perform basic administrative duties to support daily operations of the Success Center.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (minimum).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours (morning, noon, or evening) based on center needs.
• Commitment to supporting adult learners and diverse student populations.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Windows 11 operating system.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
