About the role

The CAMP In‑School Tutor provides high‑dosage math tutoring to middle‑school students at Chapman, McNair, Williams, or Morris Middle School. Sessions run three times per week during the school day for 60 minutes each.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver math tutoring sessions for small groups (5–8 students) using provided curriculum.
  • Monitor and document individual student progress, flagging those who fall behind growth targets.
  • Attend regular check‑ins with the CAMP Program Manager to review outcomes and adjust instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, session delivery, and progress in VELA.

Required profile

  • Pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree (or higher).
  • Experience working with middle‑ or high‑school students.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort with student data and measurable growth targets.

Required skills

  • Familiarity with educational platforms such as IXL, A+ College Ready Standards, and ACAP.
