Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) 2

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) 2 for a prime contract based in Linthicum, Maryland. The ISSO supports the information assurance program of a program, organization, system or enclave, working closely with senior ISSOs and the ISSM, and providing daily oversight and direction to contractor ISSOs.

Key responsibilities

• Support the proposal, coordination, implementation and enforcement of information systems security policies, standards and methodologies
• Maintain the operational security posture of a system or program and manage day-to-day security operations
• Evaluate security solutions for classified information and perform vulnerability and risk assessments to support security authorization
• Provide configuration management for security software, hardware and firmware, and assess the security impact of changes
• Prepare and review documentation such as System Security Plans, Risk Assessment Reports, C&A packages and SRTMs, in line with NIST RMF and ODNI/DoD policies
• Track user identification and authentication mechanisms and obtain system authorization for systems under their purview
• Develop and update the system security plan and other cybersecurity documentation, and interact with customers, IT staff and corporate officers to achieve cybersecurity objectives

Required profile

• TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security, IT engineering or a related field, or 12 years of combined experience (8 years in IT, cybersecurity or security authorization, including 2 of the specified areas)
• Familiarity with commercial security products, security authorization techniques, incident management, and PKI and authorization services
• Required certifications: DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum of IAM Level I
