Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) 2

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Level 2 Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to independently run and coordinate day-to-day security operations for assigned systems under limited supervision. The ISSO leads continuous monitoring activities, coordinates remediation with system administrators and engineers, and provides technical security evidence to the ISSM for RMF reporting. The course being supported runs 0800-1700 M-F, with contract core hours of 1000-1400.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily security operations: monitor and triage security alerts and logs, validate security tool health and coverage, escalate incidents per SOP and drive timely resolution
• Plan and run vulnerability and compliance scans (credentialed and non-credentialed as approved), review false positives, document results and maintain remediation tickets
• Execute and validate STIG and compliance posture checks, coordinate remediation and document completion evidence
• Maintain security evidence repositories (scan outputs, STIG checklists, tool status, access review artifacts) with proper labeling and access control
• Support IAM controls by coordinating account actions and documenting access review results for disposition by Government/ISSM
• Provide technical security-impact inputs for proposed changes and recurring posture inputs (scan trends, top findings, remediation aging) for ISSW/Government reporting

Required profile

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Degree in Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Networking, Information Science, Cyber Security or related preferred
• Experience in information systems design, development, programming, cybersecurity, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, forensics or systems engineering; RNIF and IS security technology experience desired
• Required certifications: Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Tier I within 6 months of assignment, maintained through continuous education
