Industrial Services Technician – Boiler & Steam Systems

About the role

Nestlé USA is seeking an Industrial Services Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain utility systems such as boilers, steam, condensate, and water treatment at its Schaumburg facility. The role focuses on safe, reliable plant operations and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, start up, operate, adjust, shut down, and purge boiler and steam systems.
• Monitor, test, and record readings for high‑pressure steam boilers, pumps, natural‑gas and chemical treatment systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of boiler equipment.
• Respond to alarms, troubleshoot basic issues, and document all activities.
• Assist with basic repairs and guide others on complex repairs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience with operation, repair, and maintenance of boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, or utility systems.
• Ability to work independently, follow safety procedures, and handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Boiler operation and steam system monitoring.
• Water treatment and condensate system maintenance.
• Preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Ammonia refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical control system familiarity.
