Industrial Painter – Surface Preparation & Coating

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to prepare, blast, coat, and finish structural steel, piping, tanks, equipment and other industrial surfaces. The role involves a full range of surface‑preparation techniques and coating applications in a variety of construction and industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, grinding, pressure washing and abrasive blasting.
• Perform sweep blasting, commercial blast cleaning, near‑white metal and white‑metal blasting to meet project specifications.
• Operate and maintain blasting equipment such as blast pots, hoses, nozzles and compressors.
• Apply primers, paints, epoxies and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, conventional and airless spray equipment.
• Mix coatings according to manufacturer formulas, monitor thickness and ensure quality.
• Inspect coated surfaces, perform touch‑ups and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Required profile

• Prior experience in industrial painting, coating and abrasive blasting.
• Knowledge of surface‑preparation standards, blasting media selection and coating specifications.
• Ability to achieve required surface profiles and cleanliness levels.
• Dependable team player able to follow safety procedures and complete pre‑employment requirements.

Required skills

• Abrasive blasting (sweep, commercial, near‑white metal, white‑metal)
• Operation of airless spray equipment and conventional spray tools
• Mixing and applying industrial primers, paints, epoxies and protective coatings
• Reading product data sheets, SDS and coating specifications
• Use of hand and power tools for surface preparation
