Implant Maintenance Technician

About the role

NXP is hiring an Implant Maintenance Technician for its ATMC Fab Implant area in Austin. The technician performs scheduled and unscheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting and repairing electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems. The role involves compressed shifts, days or nights, and working with internal and external groups to meet safety, performance and reliability requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fab equipment and reduce repetitive tool breakdowns
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems, and change consumables
• Monitor and analyse tool data, recommend improvements to maintenance procedures, and work with engineers on equipment improvement projects
• Diagnose equipment alarms, read operational data and create action plans
• Communicate machine status verbally in daily pass-down meetings and in writing to engineers and technicians on other shifts
• Follow safety protocols around hazardous chemicals and document work while training others

Required profile

• 2-5 years of experience preferred; prior experience on AMAT Viistas, Axcelis GSDs, AMAT Quantums, ION sources, flood guns, aperture electrodes or electromagnetic energy reflectors is preferred but not required
• Ability to stand or walk up to 12 hours per shift
• Education, experience or military training may satisfy formal education requirements

Required skills

• Strong mechanical and electronic skills
• Able to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Knowledge of SPC in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills and MS Office
• Problem-solving, project management and excellent oral and written communication
