About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is looking for an Identity & Driver Credential Specialist (Level 1) to join its Atlanta office. In this full‑time position you will help residents obtain learner’s permits, driver’s licenses, and state‑issued identity cards while delivering courteous, accurate service.

Key responsibilities

• Issue learner’s permits, driver’s licenses, and identity cards in compliance with state laws.
• Convert out‑of‑state licenses and assist new residents with the licensing process.
• Administer written and road‑test examinations for first‑time drivers.
• Handle high‑volume customer interactions, including inquiries, complaints, and special situations.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity within DDS systems.
• Occasionally act as team lead for lower‑level staff.
