Hydraulic/Pneumatic Service Technician

About the role

SunSource, a leading industrial distribution company, is seeking a skilled Technician to service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment in its Milwaukee shop. The role involves diagnosing system issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment meets manufacturer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate malfunctioning hydraulic or pneumatic systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Inspect parts and determine re‑workability, then document findings in a complete service report.
• Diagnose problems, recommend repairs, pull necessary parts, and prepare for repair.
• Assemble and test units according to manufacturer specifications.
• Adjust components, clean, organize, and maintain the shop and its equipment.
• Assist Level I Technicians with repairs and training, and participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 2‑year fluid power associate degree or certification preferred; minimum high school diploma/GED.
• 1–3 years of fluid‑power service and repair experience (3–5 years preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 75 lb and stand 95–100 % of the workday.

Required skills

• Hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting.
• Interpretation of schematics and use of diagnostic equipment.
• Repair, assembly, and testing of pumps, motors, and power units.
• Knowledge of fluid‑power components and industry standards.
