About the role

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking an intern to support the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) secretariat. The role involves monitoring humanitarian developments, assisting with anticipatory action frameworks, and contributing to data‑driven funding decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze humanitarian developments to support funding decisions.
  • Assist in setting up Anticipatory Action frameworks, including research and document development.
  • Review and draft responses to funding applications in coordination with Programme Officers.
  • Support climate‑smart humanitarian action through analysis and guidance development.
  • Prepare guidance, conduct trainings and assist Resident and Humanitarian Coordinators.
  • Collect, manage and visualise data on localisation, gender and funding trends, creating dashboards and reports.
  • Maintain reference information, respond to inquiries and coordinate lessons‑learned with field offices.

Required profile

  • Student in the final year of a bachelor, master or Ph.D. programme, or recent graduate (within one year).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; French language skills are desirable.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
  • Knowledge of Python, statistics and data‑visualisation tools.
