About the role
Oceaneering Group Enterprise is looking for an experienced HSE Advisor IV to lead health, safety, security and environmental programs for its Submarine Rescue Operations and Maintenance Contractor in San Diego. The role reports to the HSSE Manager and works closely with operations, Undersea Rescue Command and government stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain HSSE management systems, safety culture, Life Saving Rules and compliance with OSHA, CAL‑OSHA, OPNAVINST, NAVFACINST and other regulations.
- Oversee hazardous material (HAZMAT) program, maintain Safety Data Sheets and ensure proper receipt, stowage, issue and disposal of hazardous substances.
- Manage weight‑handling and material‑handling programs in coordination with URC and government procedures.
- Provide safety oversight for high‑hazard tasks, conduct investigations, generate HSSE reports and support load planning for transportation and mobilization.
- Assist with facility maintenance, fire/life safety equipment, and ensure compliance with Navy and local workplace‑violence policies.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of HSSE, facility maintenance or HAZMAT experience.
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret clearance and a passport.
- Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills; ability to be on‑call for emergencies.
Required skills
- Knowledge of OSHA, CAL‑OSHA, OPNAVINST, NAVFACINST regulations.
- Experience with HAZMAT management, Safety Data Sheets, weight‑handling and material‑handling programs.
