HR Generalist – State Government

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking an HR Generalist to support the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities at the West Central Georgia Regional Hospital. This position provides a broad range of human‑resources services to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily HR transactions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee data management.
• Administer benefits enrollment, manage the annual open‑enrollment process, and assist employees with health, dental, and retirement plans.
• Conduct new‑staff orientation covering HR policies, standards of conduct, benefits, leave, and payroll.
• Support supervisors with performance‑review cycles, performance‑improvement plans, and performance‑management forms.
• Maintain compliance with required evaluations, vaccinations, drug screening, and background checks.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED plus four (4) years of HR experience, or one (1) year in a lower‑level HR Generalist role (HRP010) or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required professional licenses or certifications.
• Willingness to complete drug screening, TB evaluation, annual influenza vaccination, and background checks.
