HR Generalist 2 – State Government

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Prosecuting Attorneys Council is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide comprehensive human‑resources support and high‑level customer service to internal and external employees. This position will manage employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits compliance, and leave administration while ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer employee leave programs (FMLA, LWOP, Donated Leave) and ensure legal compliance.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and act as liaison with third‑party administrators.
• Process unemployment claims, prepare documentation, and support hearings.
• Serve as ADA Coordinator, conduct Georgia Activity Analyses, and manage reasonable accommodation processes.
• Perform benefits administration and reconciliation (SHBP, FLEX, ERS, JRS) and resolve vendor discrepancies.
• Manage full‑cycle recruitment using Team Georgia Careers (Taleo) or similar systems.
• Maintain HRIS data in PeopleSoft HCM, process hires, separations, and salary changes.
• Conduct audits of leave and personnel records and support HR policy development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
• Four years of HR experience, including experience in a State of Georgia HR environment or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA) and Georgia Personnel Board rules.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and complex HR matters with professionalism.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using HRIS platforms such as PeopleSoft HCM and GA@WORK.
• Familiarity with Taleo or similar applicant‑tracking systems.
