Household Manager – Meal Prep & Childcare Support

About the role

This part‑time position supports a busy family in Cheshire, CT by providing childcare, meal preparation, and comprehensive household organization. You will work Monday‑Friday, primarily 11 am‑5 pm, with occasional flexibility for date‑night coverage and early school releases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regular care for a baby and occasional assistance for school‑aged children, including backpack resets and date‑night coverage.
• Maintain daily home resets: tidy common areas, wash dishes, vacuum high‑traffic zones, and clean floors.
• Develop and sustain organization systems throughout the downstairs living spaces, playroom, closet, and garage.
• Manage laundry and linens, including washing, folding, ironing, and proper garment care.
• Plan and prep 3‑4 family‑friendly dinners per week in a prep‑chef style, shop for groceries, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Monitor pantry, fridge, and household supplies; handle online orders, returns, dry‑cleaning, and mail management.
• Perform weekly deep‑clean tasks such as baseboard wiping and occasional appliance cleaning.
• Care for pets by letting dogs out, refilling water bowls, and supervising a small rabbit.
• Support family scheduling by updating the Skylight calendar, providing reminders, and tracking receipts for budgeting.
