Household Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support)

About the role

We are an active household in Scotch Plains, NJ seeking a reliable Household Manager & Family Assistant to bring calm, consistency, and organization to our daily life. You will support two young children, a 25‑lb dog, and busy parents by handling household tasks, errands, and meal preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain household organization, daily resets of rooms, laundry, and dishwashing.
• Coordinate donations, trash pick‑ups, and basic home maintenance (batteries, light bulbs, filters).
• Restock pantry, fridge, and supplies; manage grocery lists and shop weekly, including Costco trips.
• Prepare family dinners (oven‑ready and crock‑pot meals) four times a week and clean the kitchen afterward.
• Provide pet care: feed, walk, and accompany the dog to veterinary or grooming appointments.
• Assist with child logistics: after‑school pickups, backpack preparation, and snack packing.
• Handle vehicle tasks such as refueling, car washes, and basic maintenance.
• Update family calendar, track receipts, and support occasional deep‑cleaning projects.

Required profile

• Highly reliable, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Excellent attention to detail, anticipates family needs, and communicates clearly.
• Comfortable working in a home with children and a dog, and able to lift moderate loads.
• Authorized to work in the United States, CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
• Possesses reliable personal transportation; mileage will be reimbursed.
