Household Manager & Family Assistant – Part‑Time

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Household Manager & Family Assistant to support a busy four‑kid household in Fairhope, AL. The role is part‑time, 30 hours per week, and includes meal preparation, laundry, school pickups, and pet care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily laundry, linen rotation, and occasional ironing; keep the laundry area organized.
• Prepare and execute dinner 4–5 nights a week, following gluten‑free, dairy‑free and peanut‑free guidelines; stock healthy snacks.
• Handle school pickups for three children, manage related errands, and provide light supervision as needed.
• Maintain pantry, fridge, and household supplies; run weekly Costco orders and occasional Walmart/Target purchases.
• Walk and care for two dogs, a cat, two birds and a hedgehog; coordinate mobile groomer visits.
• Oversee bi‑weekly cleaning service, coordinate house‑cleaner visits, and perform seasonal home organization projects.
• Manage vehicle upkeep, vendor coordination, and basic home maintenance tasks such as changing batteries and filters.

Required profile

• Warm, grounded, and service‑oriented with a proactive “see‑what‑needs‑doing” attitude.
• Comfortable around children of various ages and able to read the room.
• Reliable transportation, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to maintain a smoke‑free, fragrance‑free environment.
• Pet‑friendly, able to handle dogs with vision challenges and a barking tendency.
• Detail‑oriented, able to plan ahead, make confident decisions within scope, and communicate openly.
