House Manager & Family Assistant (Childcare & Organizational Support)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive House Manager & Family Assistant to support a busy household on Sanibel Island. The role combines childcare, pet care, household organization, and occasional business assistance, working 20‑25 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain household organization systems, daily resets, and light tidying; coordinate cleaning services and seasonal home updates.
• Manage laundry, linen care, bed making, and occasional ironing or garment care.
• Prepare two family dinners and school lunches each week, handle grocery organization and kitchen clean‑up, including gluten‑free options.
• Provide childcare support: activity drop‑offs, backpack prep, backup babysitting, and occasional date‑night coverage.
• Care for pets – dog walks, bathing, and weekly lizard enclosure maintenance.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, fueling, and interior cleaning.
• Supervise pool, yard, and property vendors; coordinate repairs for out‑of‑state properties.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as calendar reminders, receipt tracking, and supply ordering.

Required profile

• Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable handling a dynamic, fast‑paced family environment.
• Reliable transportation with willingness to be reimbursed for mileage.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain a smoke‑free home.
• Comfortable around children, dogs, cats, and a bearded dragon.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain the certifications.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
