Hourly Health Aide – Part‑Time Patient Care

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking an Hourly Health Aide to work part‑time at the Georgia Regional Hospital in Decatur. You will provide basic patient care, support daily living activities, and help patients develop essential skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding.
• Take vital signs, administer medications and treatments as directed, and collect specimens.
• Observe, document, and report patient behavior, data, and activity.
• Facilitate recreational and social activities.
• Transport clients to treatment areas using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Prepare clients for examinations and support mobility and exercise.
• Maintain safety and security of clients at all times.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in direct care or basic nursing procedures.
• Ability to work any shift (7 am–7:30 pm or 7 pm–7:30 am).
• Willingness to undergo state and national background checks.
• Proficiency in basic computer use.
