A growing high-performance charter school in Jersey City is hiring a high school science teacher. The school combines an effective education program with strong teacher support and professional development, and serves a very diverse student body. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Commit to the school's values and mission, and hold high expectations for every student
• Take responsibility for students' learning progress and seek peer and leader support to solve problems
• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons using school-provided or self-designed materials, and regularly administer formative assessments
• Model and enforce the school's culture and rules, and supervise students on school grounds
• Attend professional development, take part in planning meetings and join a professional learning community
• Work with special education and ELL staff to implement those programs and comply with state and federal regulations

Required profile

• Candidate must hold or plan to obtain New Jersey Department of Education certification to teach high school science (CE, CEAS or Standard certificate)
