Paraprofessional (One-on-One Aide)

About the role

Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring two paraprofessionals, one to support a high school student and one to support a middle school student. The work is on site, full time, Monday to Friday from 7:15 am to 3:05 pm, and is open to an immediate start for this year and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Support a student during their basic instruction in reading, writing, math and other educational activities assigned by the teacher.
• Provide help, breaks and redirection as needed.

Required profile

• Experience working with middle school and high school aged students is required.
• At minimum, 2 years of college (60 credits) and an Associate's degree or higher; teacher certification is not required.
• A BA, substitute certificate, or work toward a Bachelor's degree, and some teaching experience, are a major plus.
• Strong communications skills, basic administrative skills, maturity, a strong work ethic and a willingness to help children.
