High School English Teacher

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is looking for enthusiastic High School English Tutors to provide one‑on‑one instruction for students in grades 9‑12 across Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. The role focuses on building foundational reading, writing, and spelling skills while supporting homework completion and study habits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalized tutoring for high school students (Grades 9–12).
• Support foundational skills in Reading, Writing, Spelling, and other English topics.
• Assist students with homework, study habits, and organizational skills.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and goals.
• Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with families.
• Travel to students' homes throughout Upper Manhattan and/or The Bronx.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or teaching certification preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring high‑school‑aged students.
• Strong understanding of high school curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation for in‑person tutoring assignments.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
