About the role

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Division of Vehicles is hiring an Automotive Mechanic to serve as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic in Ottawa, IL. The position performs skilled mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance of medium and heavy-duty trucks and off-road equipment for the state's fleet and other off-road machinery. It is a full-time, salaried union position with one vacancy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical repairs on medium and heavy-duty trucks and off-road equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on the state's vehicle fleet and off-road machinery.

Required profile

What we offer

• Anticipated starting salary of $6,279 per month, with a full range of $6,279 to $7,849 per month.
• Monday to Friday schedule, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; fully in office, no hybrid availability.
