Health and Safety Technician

About the role

Join 3M as a Health and Safety Technician and work alongside innovative colleagues worldwide. You will help create and maintain a safe manufacturing environment while gaining experience across a variety of safety programs and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety programs.
• Assist engineers in developing safety procedures and recommendations.
• Perform routine inspections of PPE, permits, and equipment.
• Conduct observations, provide feedback, and correct safety deficiencies.
• Assist employees and supervisors on health‑ and safety‑related projects.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
• Participate as a member of the health and safety committee.
• Help deliver new‑employee orientation and role‑specific safety training.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (completed and verified prior to start).
• At least two years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (private, public, government, or military).
• Two years of experience performing lockout/tagout as an authorized employee.
• Two years of experience working at heights.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
