Health and Safety Specialist

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to lead day‑to‑day occupational health and safety activities at its San Francisco headquarters and across U.S. locations. You will be the primary point of contact for all H&S matters, ensuring a safe workplace while supporting the broader EHS strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular onsite inspections, hazard and risk assessments, and ergonomics program activities.
• Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and illnesses; manage occupational health cases from reporting through return‑to‑work and closure.
• Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, including the annual 300/300A reporting process.
• Facilitate the health and safety committee and volunteer emergency response team, organizing meetings, drills, and follow‑up actions.
• Develop and deliver H&S training across U.S. offices, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
• Manage relationships with H&S vendors, landlords, building management, and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience in occupational health and safety, including inspections and incident investigations.
• Ability to manage cases through the full lifecycle and collaborate with HR, legal, security, and workplace teams.
• Strong communication skills to engage employees and support safety committees.
• Experience working in fast‑growing, technology‑focused environments is a plus.
