Health Aide 2 – Day Shift at East Central Regional Hospital

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a compassionate Health Aide 2 to join the East Central Regional Hospital in Augusta. This full‑time day‑shift position supports adults with serious mental illness, helping them achieve safety, daily living skills, and a successful transition back to the community.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility.
• Take vital signs and prepare patients for medical appointments.
• Facilitate group activities such as games and crafts to promote social interaction.
• Monitor patient areas to prevent conflicts and ensure a safe environment.
• Conduct safety checks for prohibited items and help de‑escalate upset patients.
• Document patient progress and behavior in the electronic system.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and counselors as part of the care team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least six months of related experience; two years preferred in a hospital, nursing home, or similar setting.
• Experience working with individuals who have mental health conditions, trauma, or behavioral challenges.
• Ability to remain calm and kind during stressful situations.
