Header Welder

About the role

Alfa Laval is seeking a Header Welder to join its manufacturing team in Oklahoma. The role involves fabricating and repairing header components using various welding techniques while adhering to blueprints and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints and work orders to determine weld procedures and header layouts.
• Operate MIG welding machines, oxy‑acetylene, carbon‑arc and sub‑arc torches to weld and pre‑heat headers.
• Perform layout, fit‑up, and welding of non‑ASME water‑jacket headers.
• Complete preventive maintenance checklists and routine machine upkeep.
• Load and unload heads using overhead crane and hoist, and keep the work area clean.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with relevant welding experience.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or related industry experience.
• Pass a Pulmonary Function Test if working on stainless steel.
• Successful completion of the G‑Welder test.
• Proficiency in English for reading blueprints and safety instructions.

Required skills

• MIG welding and flux‑core welding.
• Oxy‑acetylene and sub‑arc torch operation.
• Overhead crane and hoist operation.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
