Head Start Substitute Teacher – Chaffee, MO

About the role

DAEOC is looking for substitute staff to support its Head Start and Early Head Start centers in Chaffee, Missouri. The substitute will work closely with classroom staff, helping with daily operations and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out duties in line with Head Start Performance Standards and program policies.
• Assist classroom staff with classroom operations and engage actively with children.
• Support assessments and screenings as directed.
• Ensure no child is left unattended and maintain appropriate communication tone.
• Enter data and complete paperwork as required.
• Promote Head Start goals, advocate for children and families, and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide families with information about Head Start and community resources.
• Maintain First Aid and CPR certification and report any suspected child abuse.

Required profile

• Valid Missouri driver’s license.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to arrive on time, work collaboratively, and follow program policies.
• Commitment to child safety, confidentiality, and respectful interaction with diverse families.
